Outsourcing Leaders Speak Up

March 1st, 2007 Lito

By Richard Mills

Offshore Outsourcing is an emotional subject these days and many senior managers are uncomfortable talking openly about their company’s projects for fear of being labeled unpatriotic job killers. One fellow from California told me that when he accepted a posting to run his company’s offshore facility in Philippines, a number of co-workers came to his office to let him know he was “tearing apart the very fabric of our nation.”

Even big-talking CEO’s, who can usually be counted upon to hype their company’s cost reduction strategies, are often remarkably silent about offshore outsourcing. They seem to put the subject on a similar level as pornography - they all want to sneak a peek at it but none want to admit to do so.

Happily, there are some who will talk about their experiences with Offshore Outsourcing and their comments are useful for the rest of us. Most seem optimistic and think the future of offshore outsourcing is bright. Nevertheless, no one should be misled that running an outsourcing facility in a developing country is a Sunday afternoon picnic. There are serious frustrations that must be contended with.

Successful Brand Name Advertising In The Philippines

February 28th, 2007 Lito

By Mike Go

If there is one company in the Philippines today that understands and knows the importance and value of brand names is Jollibee. A brand name creates a perception in the customers mind that becomes very strong, and no one understands this more than our countries number one fast food chain.

Ask your average Filipino child where he would like to eat and 8 out of 10 will likely answer Jollibee. The Jollibee mascot is probably the most widely recognized character in the country. Thanks to the intense marketing and advertising campaign and the endorsement of various popular local actors and actress, brought about catchy names and memorable lines that almost every Filipino can immediately recognize and identify.

Do you want to know how effective their advertising campaign is? Take for example their fried chicken product called chicken joy. My niece calls very kind of fried chicken a ‘chicken joy’ even when eating out at McDonald, Kentucky fried chicken or even home cooked fried chicken she calls it chicken joy. The brand name is already imprinted in her mind and automatically comes out whenever she ask for fried chicken. This is why Jollibee IS the number one fast food chain.

5 Winning Attitudes You Need to Earn Money Right Now

February 26th, 2007 Lito

By Mario P. Churchill

You have the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed and yet, you’re still earning a pittance. If this sounds sadly familiar, what you need is a definite change in attitude to have a brighter future.

Take Risks If You Want to Earn Money

The word “risk” itself is sometimes enough to strike terror in people’s hearts. The word “risk” usually represents fear of the unknown and some people would rather not confront their fears – even if they’re offered the greatest rewards – when they can always choose to stay in their comfort zone.

If you want to earn money right now, you need to develop the courage to take risks. But be sure, of course, that you don’t get foolhardy and just leave your future completely in the hands of fate. Be daring, but don’t forget to act smart.

Location - Location - Location: Almost Rule No. 1

February 25th, 2007 Lito

By Rivky Shimon

If you have followed through with creating a decent business plan, then you are ready to pick a location. You might already have one in mind. But, you need other things to think about.

Location, Location, Location. That’s the rule of thumb. If you are planning on opening a restaurant, you need the perfect area. But, there is no set formula for where the perfect location is. A restaurant out in the middle of nowhere could thrive because of its sense of privacy. A restaurant just up the street from another restaurant could thrive because it offers consumers a choice. You never really know if the location is going to be a hit or not. So, it does require a good bit of thought.

Of course, location can be measured rather decently if you are able to look around and see a need without the service. If you want to open a computer service store, right in the middle of a town that has no computer service store is a great bet. But, you really have to know the area. There are some towns throughout the country that are still in the dark ages. A computer store would not thrive in a town that only has one computer everyone uses.

DJ Bumbay - Your Friendly Neighborhood Entrepreneur

February 24th, 2007 Lito

Hello, I was just amused by Bitoy’s DJ bumbay. Come to think of it, India was not a rich nation although many Indians have became rich because they are so talented. Like for example hotmail. This web based email service was a pioneer and invented by a group of Indians and then bought by Bill Gates. Here, in the Philippines, they were known as money lenders ( 5-6 ) or selling assorted goods travelling in motorcycles most of the time and paid by installment ( hulugan ). They are entrepreneurs which I think should taught us a lesson of hard work and patience. On the contrary, many of us seek opportunity in other other countries but why many immigrants here became rich like the Chinese and Indians? Maybe other countries have more opportunities……o well just watch this MTV DJ Bumbay video from Youtube below and have fun!

By Chris G Williams

What’s one of the most lucrative niches that are steadily growing by the hour every day on the internet?

Online Gaming!

It contains a huge population of male teenagers and older males with large amounts of disposable income. It also includes a lot of high-profile female players and teams who actually receive a lot more attention than millions of the male gamers.

Industry experts estimate that the global gaming industry is worth $25 billion in annual sales revenue.

The main factor to the growth of this lucrative market is “Online Multiplayer Gaming”. At any given time of the day or night there are millions of people playing games online. Driving Traffic To Your Trade Show Booth

February 23rd, 2007 Lito

By Praveen Samra

Promotional products can play a significant part in increasing traffic to an exhibitor’s trade show booth, thereby helping to maximise the company’s investment in terms of time, effort and money. This gives a distinct advantage over other exhibitors who are all clamouring for the same buyers’ attention.

Research shows that the most successful exhibitors - in terms of business generated and leads collected - write to their customers and prospects before a show. A simple direct mail campaign to invite recipients to visit you will most likely generate some extra traffic to your booth, but to gain maximum impact you also need to offer an incentive such as a free gift or opportunity to enter a prize draw.

Using promotional products in conjunction with pre-show mailings has been proven to have even greater success in enticing attendees to call at a booth.

February 22nd, 2007 Lito

By Kristen King

Forget “bang for your buck.” You can market yourself and your services for free with these easy self-promotion tips:

1. Create a signature line and append it to all outgoing e-mail messages. Include your name, the name of your business or something to identify your services, your website address, and contact information. Make it very easy for potential clients to contact you and pass your name along to others.

2. Participate actively in free e-mail discussion lists and online forums related to your target market or area of expertise. Asking questions makes you approachable, answering them gives you credibility, and reading others’ comments is like a dozen free marketing and business courses rolled into one. Include your signature in every post.

3. Submit your website to the major search engines and indexes: Google, MSN, Yahoo!, Open Directory, Looksmart, and others. It’s not particularly difficult to do it manually, but you may benefit from checking out a service like the one offered by Robert Woodhead at SelfPromotion.com. He provides straightforward search engine optimization (SEO) info and explains the entire submission process. The articles and advice on the site are fantastic, and a free account there is, well, free!

Myspace Marketing - How to Market Your Business for FREE on Myspace

February 21st, 2007 Lito

By Peter Geisheker

Myspace.com is the world’s largest social networking website. It is the cool place to be if you are in your teens, 20s and 30s. I have also found that it can be an outstanding free marketing tool for social business and websites.

So what is Myspace.com? Myspace is a website where anybody in the world can create a free “personal” web page (i.e., my space). Once you have created your personal web page on myspace, then you can connect your page to other people’s myspace pages by clicking on a link to request to be a person’s friend. Once that person agrees to be your friend, then you and that person can email each other, chat with each other, leave comments on each other’s myspace pages, and read each other’s blogs. There is no limit to the number of friends you can have and some of the more popular people on myspace have millions of myspace friends and have actually become Internet celebrities and have been featured on talk shows.

Over the past year I have been conducting test marketing on myspace for a couple of my clients and I have discovered that myspace can be a very good free marketing tool for businesses. However, myspace is not for all businesses. The types of business that will do well having a myspace page are the “cool” types of businesses that want to market to people in their 20s and 30s. Businesses that will have luck marketing on myspace include bars, clubs, “hip” clothing stores, and cool Internet websites.
