Free Wireless Broadband Service Via Toilet

April 1st this 2007 is palm sunday which most of us Filipinos are observing for this holy week. But what surprises me is this new innovation from Google. I saw it today in the Google homepage, the Google TiSP Beta. I thought it was the Google accelerator. The software I’ve downloaded some time ago to improve the internet speed which is made for broad band internet. But when I followed the link I discovered that this new technology can actually make you surf the internet by utilizing your own toilet in your bathroom. By the way, this is only available in the U.S. You can find more detail here: Google TiSP (BETA).

The two amazing entrepreneurs in our time, Larry Page and Sergey Brin already bewildered the world by dominating the search engine market and PPC advertising. Now this new innovation, which at first glance seems hilarous and unbelievable is now an amazing breakthrough in information technology. Because it looks easy to install and free, many people now can surf the internet and I do hope someday it will also be available here in our country.

And last but not the least, TiSP stands for “Toilet Internet Service Provider”. The project “is a self-installed, ad-supported online service that will be offered entirely free to any consumer with a WiFi-capable PC and a toilet connected to a local municipal sewage system.” according to the press release. You can see the detail here: Press Release

And, this technology has one last thing they advise to the users after installing the TiSP: (Please wash your hands before surfing.)
