Cebu Pacific entered the aviation industry as a provider of on-time service and as a low-cost alternative to the leading airline, the Philippine Airlines. Based on it’s performance, the innovative techniques has made it became second to the leading Airline. It’s low cost on fare and e-ticketing using the internet as a means of leverage has helped it boost it’s performance. e-ticketing provides service to customers by transacting on-line, like buying tickets and reservations.
Lance Gokongwei was the President of Cebu Pacific and other corporations. His airline business has bore a strongest mark of his management savvy. He started from scratch by utilizing 3 secondhand DC-9 airbus that serviced 24 flights to and from Manila, Cebu and Davao. Although he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he successfully managed his company. Being an entrepreneur, he doesn’t have to undergo the hardships of his father who became an icon of entrepreneurship.
As he said himself “I recognize two concepts of what entrepreneurship really is. One is the Philippine concept, where we speak of one who starts with zero capital but with abundant ideas on which to build the business. Second is the entrepreneurship concept in developed countries. There entrepreneurship has to do with identifying opportunities and acting upon them, risking both time and capital in the process.”
I think what he is talking about is the difference between entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs. But whichever kind of status anyone came from when starting a business, the bottom line is always the passion for what you are undertaking. If you love what you are doing, you will definitely do it well.

I flew Cebu Pacific last February while in the Philippines. One particular flight was cancelled. Following directions I went to the refund office where my paperwork was stamped. “Refund OK”!! Did I ever see the refund. Hell No!! After numerous calls where I was transferred over and over. I gave up. I am a foreigner with more resources than the typical filipino. I wonder how many of them gave up after numerous attempts to get their hard earned money refunded? And there “Express Lines” that take quite often two hours to get thru are no way an Express Line. No this airline makes it’s money dishonestly and I will never fly them again!!!

I’m very sorry to hear that. I also read many complaints on that Airline regarding their services. Maybe because they are cheaper that other airlines so their services are also cheap.
