El Mare Buko Pie Featured in Kabuhayang Swak na Swak

el mare buko pieMany successful businesses have it’s humble beginnings like the El Mare who sells buko pie. Two retired H.E. teachers started making buko pies with an initial investment of php50,000. This capital was used to buy equipments and materials since the place is already owned by the two so there were no problems in renting the place.

KSNS also featured the procedures on how to make the buko pie. It looks special because of the addition of eggs and cheese maybe this is reason why it became popular. The ingredients are selected fresh buko meat, dough, flour, lard, eggs, sugar, cream, water, corn starch, evaporated milk and cheese. If you want to see the actual video, click on the image below.

But although this business is lucrative, it’s seasonal and peak of sale occurs mostly on summer where students are in vacation. The OIC of Elmare, Jennifer Martinez, advised that to those who wants to engage in this kind of business, just make sure that you like what you are doing. As I’ve mentioned before, this is seasonal.
