Beware of Franchising Scam

franchise scamBusiness franchising is one of the most wonderful thing happened to the business world. You don’t have to experiment or make your way up on your own. The proven success of the business you want to replicate can be yours if the price is right or sometimes too pricey to start with. Some very successful franchise business cost way too much for an average entrepreneur so some turn to lesser capital requirements like a food cart business.

But, although those business are only food cart, they don’t come cheap. Come to think of it, will the franchiser just let the name of his/her business be ruined by some guy who is lousy in handling business? Will the franchiser sell his business to anyone very cheap if the business is successful? If I were the franchiser, if I can’t sell a franchise on a very good price, I will not sell it for good.

So this is the reason why franchise scams are everywhere. Those scumbags knows how to fool a victim by offering a very cheap price and a very good sales talk because the victim is unaware of the necessary franchising information. And add to this, because of shame, the victim just keep it on themselves so many are still unaware of this modus operandi.

In that case how will you protect yourself from these scam? The most important is we should be discerning and cautious. We should observe first the outlets if their product really sells and well accepted by the public. After you are decided to go on, you should go directly to the franchiser’s office. At least you can be confident that it is legitimate. Most of these scumbags just hand you 3 sheets of documents and most of the time in your house. Really, all those documents needed for franchising cannot contain in just 3 sheets of paper. And a good indicator is the franchiser should be selective and not just accept anyone just for money.
