This Saturday, October 28, 2007, Kabuhayang Swak na Swak featured the following episodes:
1. Nanding’s Flower Shop – Aling Urbana started with a capital of 3,000 pesos and now they are making as much as 180,000 per week on occasions such as All Saint’s Day and Valentines day. They are cebuanos which we know are very enterprising. What is the secret to her success? well she only told the viewers to be patient and know how to manage people.
2. Sweet Factory – the business originated in the UK and became a hit in the US. The one featured in swak na swak is the only franchise here in the Philippines started in 2004 and have the master franchise. According to the General Manager, Bernadette Toribio the return of investment is very fast even though the capital is large according to her. For sweet success according to her, you have to have good product, know how to take care of your people and listen to your customers.
3. Asialink Finance Corporation – today’s segment featured Asialink granting loans for OFWs. And not only granting loans but also a part time job as loan consultant or loan agents. They also offer loan consultant job for OFW. There is no age limit as long as you have the potential as a loan consultant. Earnings is by commission from 1% to 5%.
4. Lapid Woodcraft & Funeral Services – the business has been for 20 years of making wooden coffins and later they also have semi metal. The location is in Sto. Thomas Pampanga. Their initial capital was P40,000 when they started the business. It was very lucrative on the early phase of their business but because of the high cost of materials their profits went down. The cheapest ranges from P2,500 and the most expensive is P11,000. The owner is Concha Lapid.
5. F.M.G. Metal Craft and Funeral Services – the business is making metal coffins for ten years and later they also have wooden type. The owner is Augusto Mendoza.
6. Sanctuarium – The place was like a hotel and caters to those who prefer cremation. It is located in Quezon City. The most expensive urns for putting the ashes cost 120,000 pesos because it was decorated with gold. Still practical compare to the conventional one.
7. Hardinera [Bulacan Style] – the segment is about the recipe of Hardinera conducted by Lourdes Rivera of Ultima Entrepinoy – the guru of meat processing in the Philippines. Perfect for Christmas gifts to our love ones and friends. The ingredients was not in exact measurement but anyway just for the info it’s composed of Pork, Vienna Sausage and for curing mix: Refined salt, Curing Salt, Phosphate, Vitamin C powder, Chilled water and for extenders: Isolate, Carageenan, Chilled water and for seasoning: Refined Sugar, Pickle Relish, Chopped onion, Grated Cheese, Chopped Raisins, Ground Black Pepper, Chopped Ham, Red Bell Pepper, Green Bell Pepper, Egg- Slightly Beaten, MSG, All-Purpose Flour, BF Blended, Carrots.
