Imbestigador Episode: TransPOORtation

transpoortationDuring Mike Enriquez show on Imbestigador I can’t help myself having a feeling of dismay because of the transportation condition in our country. We are left behind by other countries on the three aspects of transportation whether by Land, Air or Sea. If you happen to watch the segment on those people in Benguet where there is scooter made out of wood used for transporting materials gathered from the upper part of the mountain. I don’t know what reaction you will have whether to laugh at it or be disgusted.

I just remembered the cartoon from Hanna Barbera, the Flintstones ( Yabadabadooo! ). Thanks to the resourcefulness of those people that they have a chance to make another mode of transportation, the cable car of the Tram Line where farmers use to transport their crops from the upper part of the mountain. Again the problem doesn’t stop there. There is a problem on the maintenance of those cable cars and the bad roads from Benguet to Baguio is also a major problem that is why vegetable traders complain on the vehicle maintenance cost.

Add to it, those who were not so lucky having a road accident going over the ravine because of the bad road. So another major loss for the trader. That is why we always wonder why vegetables are expensive thinking that our country is an agricultural nation. It’s really hard to be an entrepreneur in our country.
