Kabuhayang Swak na Swak – December 15, 2007

Last Saturday, December 15, 2007, Kabuhayang Swak na Swak featured the following episodes:

1. Micky Shop Digital – it’s a shop for personalized novelty items with your picture and Walt Disney’s / Pixar cartoon characters. There are many personalized novelty items shop on malls but the only difference with Micky Shop is the use of Walt Disney Characters. They are licensed to use the characters that is why the prints is high quality. There are many options for giving your digital picture to them: by CD, blue tooth or you can just have your picture taken by them with a digital camera. The featured shop was located in Megamall but they also have branches in Mall of Asia and Glorietta. Contract info: 725-8078 / 721-2221 email: mickyshop@gmail.com

2. Historic Camalig Restaurant – this restaurant is actually a 100 year old warehouse which was converted by its owners in 1980′s located in Clark Pampanga. With an inital investment of 4,000 to 8,000 pesos the father of the present owner with an American soldier started their venture. Their best seller is pizza. Why? because all the ingredients are local, the pizza tray is “bilao”( bamboo tray ) and the pizza sauce is cooked for 6 hours. They also maintain their original recipe since 1973 up to now. The ingredients are also mentioned like the cheese, sauce, salted egg, longganisa and chopped onion. Maybe the salted egg and longganisa makes it unique and pinoy. Contact info: 045-332-5641 / 888-1077

3. My Philippines Lifestyles, Inc. – the company features makes T-shirts with Filipino designs like Cebu, Boracay, Davao and other souvenir designs. And take note, he is a Chinoy named Brian Dy and a Young Entrepreneur Magazine awardee. The reason why he themed his products to Philippine souvenir is he likes souvenirs. Website: www.mynationalshirt.com

4. Carica Herbal Company – featured the testimonies of the curative properties using the herbal products.

5. San Beda Business and Entrepreneurship Dept. – featuring the San Beda 1 month Entrep Fair. With a 5 person per group they organized 42 groups of companies. The students are sophomore students taking up International Business and Entrepreneurial Management. The segment didn’t show all the business ideas the students have but just glancing at he booth shows how creative and imaginative those students are. Some have the baked Kalabasa or squash products: assorted bread and baked goodies with squash, Wafflelicious and Stuffed ensaymada.

6. Real Kids – a photography enthusiast mom that made her passion to a business. The service specializes in taking still pictures of kids and families and not studio based. The pictures taken are in their natural environment. Location: 3/F Kid’s Dept. Rustan’s Makati; Contact info: 0920-9612400

7. Question of the day – I guess this is the one you are waiting for you to win the kabuhayan packages. So here is the question: ( Sorry for the Delay )

Anong school ang nagdaos ng Entrep Fair ’07 Tip: See item #5 above

Instruction: Write the answer on a piece of paper and the date and followed by your Name, Address, Contact number and Signature and include a recent picture. You can photocopy or zerox the entries and send to:

hi,
This is not a comment, but I need to know if you could also help me some suggestion on how to start and what to start a small business with a capital of say p30,000.00. Please help me cause I am very mush interested in putting up my own business but to start i dont have any knowledge. I am always watching your show every saturday and sundays. Thanks.

2 Manuel 01.04.08 at 11:13 pm

Hello Jane,

It’s really hard to tell which business is the best. Specially for having a capital of php30,000 there could be many many kinds of business ideas to start with. I think it’s not how much capital you have to invest but the passion for something you want. For example, if you love food and cooking, then food business might be suitable. And regarding the knowledge, then I think you need to attend trainings and seminars first like for example in TLRC. Then after that you can decide if you want to push through or forget about it.

Just for the info, I only blog about the Kabuhayang Swak na Swak show and not connected with them. You can contact them directly if you want. ( swak_na_swak@bayanprod.com.ph)

i really love your show.. i follow your show every weekends. im now interested in putting up a busines, but im not really sure what business that willm fit my budget which is P30,000. i hope you can help me decide…

4 Manuel 01.13.08 at 11:48 am

Hi Jane Paragua,

Why not browse TLRC training programs? first you need to know what you really like. Then attend a training. That will surely make you decide what business to pursue.

@heidi
Thanks for your comment. I would like to say again that this blog is not connected to Kabuhayang Swak na Swak and I empathize with you regarding the very inconvenient way of flashing the contact info on our TV screen. Unlike in a computer, you can just copy and paste. That is why I planned to blog about the program but I can’t stay tune to them because I’m also very busy. I think they need a blog and a blogger for their program. Just wait till they hire me. :) he he just kidding.

@stacey quezon
Thanks for your your comment. Siguro mas maganda kung maglalagay ka ng tarpauline sa labas ng bahay niyo na nag a advertise na you are selling chocolates. Then if you have skill on creating website, pwede rin yun gaya ng multiply.com.

Dear Amy & Girbert,

I’m always watching your show which help me to put out a business plan eventhough I am away. Whenever na umuwi ako for vacation, I verified the information I gathered from your show which are related to my business plan and I found them interesting. With the positive input from your show, we have decided to move on for actual implementation after years of cross-checking and preparations.

I am OFW from Riyadh for more than 20 yrs and I feel that it is now time for me to go back home for good with full confident that business back home can make me RICH.

Unfortunately, all our savings was been spent in children educations, real state properties and purchased of equipment for a business plan. At the moment, my wife who is already in Las Pinas is looking for a place (preferably Food court in SM MALL). She has established contact at mall leasing office and hopefully can manage to lease a suited space intended for our business on the first quarter of 2010.

All our equipments for our business plan are already in placed,advertising materials, packaging and others. We have also acquired licence from DTI, BIR and mayors permit. (location to be changed later).

We are presently looking for an institution where we can avail a working capital of about 1.5M to start up with the business.

We appreciate if you can refer us the correct institution with a lesser interest rate or any bank that we can work on with this regards.

Thank you and more power. ( appreciate if you can reply by return email)
