Finally, My New Antique Computer Table

Ahem…I was just kidding about the new computer table in my post title, since it was just a remake from an old antique office desk. For more than a week I painstakingly build my own design using those hardwood parts from the old table. I also use AutoCAD making the design to speed up the designing process but since I lack woodworker tools like an electric saw, a plane and electric sander to make a more professional look on my creation, I spent more time making it but still the end result is not bad at all. I have a portable compressor and a spray gun for applying the varnish but decided to use a paint brush instead because it was messy.

The only electric powered gadget I have is an electric drill. The rest are done manually. If you like to get the drawing plan in AutoCAD format, just visit my other blog http://www.cadblog.net and I’ll make another post about the details. So without much ado, just see the photo below:

On the lower left side, the CPU is located. The reason why I chose this design is for the CPU to be more cooler unlike if you will put it under the table like most computer table in the market. Air circulation is better this way specially if your CPU casing have a box fan on the left side. On the table top, the monitor, keyboard, speaker and mouse will be placed. It is more comfortable because the printer and scanner will be placed on left side shelves (see photo). On my initial design, I didn’t have the drawer on the middle. It was for the keyboard but I hate throwing away the old drawer from the old office table so I decided to put it back again. Last but not the least, the best thing about this computer table is you can dissemble it for transportation and fasten all the parts again with less than 40 pcs of wood screw, no nails or glue! I promise!
