How to Make Organic Fertilizer

Bioorganic Fertilizer (BOF) From Coir Dust And Animal Manures

Organic FertilizersBioorganic Fertilizer (BOF) is a processed inoculated compost from any organic material that has undergone rapid decomposition by the introduction of homogeneous microbial inoculants. This is different from fresh organic fertilizer where natural decay process is brought about by the action of heterogeneous microbes present in the organic matter. Compared with the traditional composting method, microbial inoculation hastens the decomposition from three months to just 3-4 weeks.
Inoculants are commercially available in selected areas in the country but could be easily accessed. Trichoderma harzianum , a single celled fungus hastens the decomposition of organic materials especially those high in lignin and cellulose like rice straw, coir dust, bagasse and weeds. Commercial inoculants i.e Greenmix, Mabijon composter are enriched with other beneficial microbes like the nitrogen fixing bacteria, Azotobacter.

Can I make organic fertilizer? To produce quality organic fertilizer, plant residues like coir dust, bagasse, mudpress, rice straw etc. must be mixed with animal residues. Leguminous plants could be part of the substrate to substitute part of the manure.

I don’t know what came into my mind when I search in Google the phrase “How To Be Rich”. Typing those words will surely tell you that I’m deperate. But I did found something that might help us get rich after reading the aritcle From The Sunday Times : If you want to be rich, first stop being so frightened it was written by Felix Dennis, a publishing tycoon. It’s not easy but at least we will learn how he aquires his wealth. The bottom line is confidence. We should have confidence to achieve wealth. But there is also some disadvantages of being rich and the author stressed that it won’t make you happy, it will just improve your sex life. ;)

Dried Goji Berries

August 23rd, 2008 Lito

Today while watching kabuhayang swak na swak, they features Carica, the herbal supplement company in the Philippines selling dried goji berries and they also showed how to make goji berry juice. Is not that complicated to make one. Just boil the dried goji berries and strain. Then pour the juice in bottles, which I assume you have to sterilize first to prolong the life of the juice. The dried berries only cost 500 pesos per pack. I’m not sure how many grams per pack, just contact them for details.

Goji berries cost 2,500 pesos per bottle, which I think contains 1 liter of berry juice. So if you will make your own, it would definitely cost less. The dried berries were imported from Afghanistan which is very abundant to that country and people there ignore and are only stepping on them. Carica also sell goji berry juice and cost less than the goji berry juice in the market.

How to Become a Negotiator - A Black Belt

August 17th, 2008 Lito

Filipinos really know how to bargain when buying something on the market. Sometimes we call it price haggling.  But we can’t do that on a supermarket where prices are fixed. I haven’t heard or seen doing it in a department store or supermarket. This is usually done in small grocery stores, tiangge or wet market where customers can haggle just to save some bucks. “Pwede bang tumawad?” ( Can you lower the price?) which a customer usually tell the seller. But is there such thing as a black belt negotiator? the term seems new to me and I read an article about it on the Home Business Magazine website where you can be a black belt negotiator in seven steps.

I just made a summary below but you can find the whole article here. So below are the seven steps:
