Online Advertising On A Weak Economy

by Lito on October 10, 2008

It’s inevitable, recession is starting in the U.S. already and may affect the world’s economy. Many businesses are already laying off many workers and many business already folded up including many online businesses. But what about advertising? According to the article I read, its just the opposite. Many recessions already hit the United States and companies who survived knew what to do to save their company. It’s called “Branding”. In a weak economy, that’s what companies should be doing. They should advertise to make their name look important and stick to the minds of the people. It will also make an impression that a company is doing all right despite of a bad economy and many will be loyal to the products they are selling.

Recession comes and goes and the saying is true that “History Repeats Itself” and “There Is Nothing New Under the Sun”. In the article by Svetlana Gladkova at Profy he points out things about online advertising, and how it will be affected as our economy worsens. She provides a very thought-provoking analysis on the subject, comparing it to what advertising was like in the great depression.  This is some of her analysis: [click to continue...]

Self Made Millionaires Secrets

by Lito on October 9, 2008

I was thinking of posting a business opportunity or a home business but I accidentally found an article about how millionaires made their millions. Having their traits in my opinion, is the most important thing for having a successful business because even if we like to start a business, if our minds are set in the wrong direction, I think success is really out of reach.

In the article there is a teaser that catch my attention that says“They’re just like you. But with lots of money.” I think its true because when you read their success story, the only difference of a millionaire from an ordinary person is their determination, passion and frugality. I always think that the secret of becoming a millionaire is very hard to know but once you learn about their secrets, it doesn’t look like a secret after all. The hardest thing to do is to imitate their discipline which includes frugality and determination. Normally our spending habits and fear are the greatest hindrance.

I’ve listed the five ways below and you can read the full detail here.

Think it’s about time that we look for other alternative milk sources. Are you a Boss or a Coach?

by Lito on October 3, 2008

The article below is a good comparison o being a boss or a coach. I guess the comparison was made because in an organization, a leader who is a team player is much more successful than a tyrant. This article should open our eyes that bullying a subordinate is not the way to a healthy organization. Coaching guru Thomas Crane warns managers and business owners against falling into the trap of being demanding: self-absorbed, and controlling. He says that these are some indicators of “bossing” as against coaching:

Bosses believe that their job if to push people or drive them.
Coaches believe that they are there to lift and support people.
