If you love to eat salad, specially salads where there are lots of lettuce, then I think you will be interested in planting and harvesting your own lettuce. Searching for a variety of lettuce to plant seems not very hard because there is one popular choice, and that is, the romaine lettuce. The obvious reasons are fast growing, easy to harvest and forms a loose head. It also don’t require a large space and your backyard can be suitable if you have one. I’m no expert gardener and not a gardener at all and I just got the information from the internet. The purpose of this post is just to give you an idea on what sideline or business you want to have specially this summer. Anyway, romaine lettuce loves cool weather and will thrive well on regions with a cool climate like in Baguio and Davao. But if we don’t live in a cooler regions of this country, then I think it is wise to choose cooler months like December to February and improvising a shade to protect the plants from the scorching heat of the sun.
So here it goes:

I wish I have started to add a category in this blog that will give you daily niches a long time a go. But there is a saying, better late than never. First of all what is a niche? well, many internet marketers already know the term but to those who were not very familiar with the term, niche is a certain segment of the population where you want to concentrate your efforts. In business, particularly in the internet business, having an “everything under the sun” kind of strategy will not be very effective. I once read this saying, “if you sell to everyone (general niche) you sell to no one”. To elaborate it further, for example, you want to sell beauty related products which you think you are interested in. You made a research and found out that there are people who are having skin problems. Skin problem is a very broad niche and will vary from acne, warts, black underarm, wrinkles so it will be hard for you to handle all those kinds of beauty products.
It is then a good idea to narrow down your niche, let’s say, acne or pimples. It will be simpler for you to handle it than throwing everything to, let say, you have a website that sell beauty products. Finding a niche that people are really looking for will give you more sale than selling everything under the sun or just guessing what people will buy. On my next post I’ll be giving daily niches so stay tuned. It’s under the category Daily Niches.
With so many businesses offering franchise right now, how can anyone distinguish the good ones from the bad? What are some warnings signs that an aspiring franchiser should look for? according to the article I read, you should need to know the track record of the company. Seek out some it’s franchisee and ask them about the company so you will be warned before hand if you should continue negotiating with them. There are businesses that are hesitant to let you on their offices and don’t want to give access to other franchisees or worst, don’t have any franchisees at all. So just take the necessary precaution.
Other obvious signs of an erring company are those who insist on signing their franchise agreement and fees as first in the agenda. Also, the tactics of hard selling like guaranteed payback and 100% success. Usually, in the qualification process the payment and signing should come later. Not the other way around because if you don’t qualify, then why should you pay first? Those that don’t screen their applicants looks very suspicious and seems that there isn’t any good system at all.

For all the websites and blogs I have, I think this topic belongs here although my blog is not concentrated on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but somehow this is related because if you run a website or a blog and you are using it for your business, then it’s also a legitimate business. Robots.txt file is a text file use to command search engine robots (they are just a program for crawling and indexing websites and blogs) whether to crawl or not to crawl, index or not to index your websites, follow or not to follow the links on your websites. So why it is important for search engine optimization? In the early days of the internet, there is no such thing as duplicate content. Webmasters or website owners can spam search engines (e.g. Google, Altavista, Hotbot or Yahoo! Search) and rank very well if you know how to abuse their weaknesses. How I love those days because it’s so easy to get visitors to your websites even though you are not geek enough.
So what happened is search engine companies, particularly Google, are looking for a solution to fight spamming so now there is a term called “duplicate content penalty”. This will penalize your website if it is found having duplicate content whether your website copies content from other site or you copy your own content and produce many pages. Either you do it on purpose or you are unaware that it is happening on your website, your website will be penalized. This is similar to the saying “Ignorance of the Law Excuses No One”. If your website is a static html website, done using Dreamweaver or MS Frontpage, then you can control your site not to have duplicate content unless you do it on purpose. But what about a dynamic one? examples are WordPress, Joomla, Dolphin dating site, eCommerce website and forum which mostly run by PHP MySQL database. Pages are generated on the fly and you have no idea how many duplicate pages your website is creating. To find out if your website have been indexed by Google and to know if you have many duplicate contents, try typing this to the search box: site:http://www.yourdomain.com
