Will it not be convenient if your computer will boot up in just 4 seconds? that is really a very good idea wasn’t it. Just like a cellphone that anytime you need to browse on your text messages, or even browse the internet using WAP or 3G, it would really be nice. But since cellphones have very small screen size, using a laptop or a desktop is a lot more convenient. Speeding up the boot process will definitely save us time on our work and will save electricity.
I accidentally found it in the ASROCK website because I was checking if the socket on my old ASROCK motherboard will support the Pentium 4 processor I’m planning to buy. ( Yes I know ASROCK is from China. Almost all of our electronic equipments are made in China even thought they have have top brands so why be choosy? Blame the manufacturers for migrating their factories in China. ) I was planning to replace the CPU because up to now it was powered by a Celeron. The reason why I choose Celeron in the first place is because of the price and consumes less power than Pentium 4. The slowness is tolerable and I have found ways to speed it by installing registry cleaners, tweaking the virtual memory and deleting large files in the recycling bin but the booting up of windows XP is really a pain in the ass.
As I was browsing I found the link on where you can speed up the boot process by installing a program as long as your motherboard is ASROCK and only selected motherboards can utilize the program. Sad to say my motherboard was not supported and have to buy a newer model. Maybe next time. Also there is another limitation, only system without username and password can utilize the instant boot feature. To know more about it, just visit here.
