Do You Consider Online Jobs as a Home Business?

I can’t help to think about the relation between an online job and a home business. Since online job is called “job” I might not consider it as a business because it’s still a job. My view of an online business is a very similar to an offline business where you don’t do much of the work yourself. Or even if you are a one-man-band or working alone in your business like selling goods either in a small store or via the internet, you are not working for somebody else. But when you call it a job then maybe it can be considered as a job and not a business.

Oh! it’s getting complicated comparing the two. I don’t mean to confuse the readers, I’m just pondering. Since online jobs are considered as freelancing so on the contrary this can also be considered as a home business because freelancers are not employed ( do you agree?).  Freelancers are selling services to their customers and eventhough it’s called a “job” it can also be considered as a business. One good example is, if I made a business selling website design services and do the work myself and outsource the pending work to freelancers, then that is already considered as a business.

So if you are interested in applying for an online job or want to hire services from freelancers, there are two sites I know that are already popular and credible:  www.odesk.com and www.getafreelancer.com

It depends. If you are a full-time freelancer, then you can call it an online job / work-at-home job / telecommuting job, hence a home business. Especially if you declare to the BIR that you are self-employed ;p

hihi ;D

I call it a ‘business’ just to give it a ‘classier’ ring than calling it a ‘job’ :) . And can I offer another online writing site – http://www.elance.com. I’m a freelancer on it and I haven’t found anything negative to say about it.
