If you are thinking of buying a laptop, I would presume that you will go for the price and not much on considering if it is high end. Unless you are rich or a millionaire you would go for the best like those laptops that cost hundreds of thousands of pesos. Before the small laptops (or netbooks) emerge from the market, the only choice we have was either having a cheap but slow laptop computer or a fast state-of-the-art but costly laptop computers. But now the choice we have is to decide whether if we will buy a netbook, a slow cpu laptop or a high end laptop.
Netbooks are cheaper but will it satisfy us? I’m also planning of having a netbook but when I read some articles regarding the disadvantages of it, I soon realized that I don’t need it. I always thinking of buying a laptop because it is less bulky than a desktop but because of the price, it is not possible for me to buy at least a dual core because if I’ll buy the older one like the celeron or pentium 4, it’s like just buying a second hand laptop. Although I want to settle buying a second hand, I’m very skeptical about the true condition when I buy from eBay or from a store. The previous owner could have dropped it or mishandled it. Also, the price of a second hand laptop is not cheap.

Just like to take this opportunity to greet you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year on this coming 2010. Forget all those worries in a moment and thank God that we still have our being and good health. For those who are not on their best health, at least we are alive. And life is a miracle indeed. Honestly I don’t consider Dec 25 as the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ because history revealed the origin of this belief, which came from the Roman pagan religion that celebrated the birth of the son of virgin
Nana named
Attis. For more info you can check it out
here.
Also, the Bible tells us the story when Christ was born and there are sheep outside the field and if we associated it with the month of December, it is obvious that the season is winter. Those sheep will freeze to death if the shepherds will let those sheep outside. Since we are so accustomed to this belief, I’m only telling about the reality of the true birthday of Jesus Christ just for information only and it’s up to you how will you embrace this. But as for me, I still celebrate it for tradition only and set apart religious belief. So one again just enjoy your Christmas and the coming New Year hoping it will be a prosperous one!

Most of the blog and websites today have some sort of advertisements on it. And the obvious reason for it is to make money. Advertisers pay those blog or website owners for the ads shown on their websites by clicks or impressions. Others pay by commissions for every sale made by the blog or website that have ads on them. Some bloggers prefers not to put any ads on their blogs and maybe the primary reason is they wanted to establish their own brand and this is true for most businesses that have their own blogs. But seldom do I see personal or niche websites that don’t have any ads on them. And again, I can only assume that they have other money making strategies like selling their own products like for example an ebook. Those blogs make profits as a back end which at first making a blog popular and after they have many loyal visitors and subscribers in the end the blogger sells them products through newsletters.
So how will you improve the efficiency of your ads? what I mean about efficiency is not exactly making more profits but making it more visible to your visitors. Personally, I believe that it is one of the most important factors to consider in any blogs or websites that have advertisements on them. The reason is very simple. How will a visitor in your site look into the ads or have interest in them if they can’t see them? Yes, your ads is there but because of all the clutter and fancy design of your site, the visitor is distracted and will not notice your ads anymore. I see blogs who have an awesome design and really attracted to them but when it comes to advertisement efficiency, they are very poor.

There is new gadget that can accept credit card payment just using a mobile phone particularly an iphone. According to some report it can also be used on a laptop. It is a kind of dongle that you can plug on an iphone audio jack, a tiny square shaped plastic that can read credit card info and can transact just like a credit card terminal. The biggest advantage of this kind of technology is almost every one who has an iphone can avail of this new technology (not exactly every iphone user because as of this moment it is only available in the U.S.). To accept a payment by credit card, all you have to do is to swipe it in the square dongle and the information will be transfered to the iphone. Then in real time you can charge the card and presto you have the payment, possibly in your bank account. The square plastic device works simple unlike the traditional credit card terminal where a merchant needs to have a merchant account, monthly fee and transaction fee whereas the square is free. Before I forget to mention, this device was a brain child of Jack Dorsey, the founder of twitter. Maybe my post will look redundant for introducing Jack Dorsey over and over again because most of the articles I’ve read always starts with his name.
Anyway I thought this was the first kind of mobile payment system ever invented but there is a predecessor which has been around in the past and still active today. It’s the Iswipe mobile payment system by appninjas.com. The only difference is that iswipe has a monthly fee and transaction fee. So how about you? what do you think? was Square the best mobile payment system?

Jollibee is the leading fastfood chain in the country and that is only my opinion but nevertheless I when it comes to fast food, Filipino’s have only one thing in mind when they want to eat out. I sometimes hear this joke “halika mag-Jollibee tayo sa mac Do” or “Mag-Jollibee tayo sa Chowking”. ( “come let’s Jollibee in Mc Donalds” or “Let’s Jollibee in Chowking”). Thinking that Jollibee is now synonymous with the word “let’s eat out”. That is how Mr. Tony Tan Caktiong put his effort to preserve and promote the brand name “Jollibee”.
On a video below from WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), (actually I got it in Youtube) he has some interesting explanation about preserving his brand name and how dangerous it is for a business or company for letting copy cats imitate their brand name. If companies are not strict on enforcing their trademark, over time it will become diluted and consumers will be confused and will not get the quality they want. Mr. Caktiong stressed that both the company and the consumers will be harmed in the process (probably because the company’s reputation will be tarnished and the consumers will not get the genuine products). So without much ado just watch the video after this jump…….
