TRC (TLRC Training) Courses Available in October 2011

TRC is moving to a new venue on October 3, 2011 at 2/F Jacinta II Bldg., EDSA Guadalupe, Makati City (beside Metro Manila Development Authority-MMDA) so the previous post about TRC training schedule with the old address is already obsolete. Most of the time there are comments on this blog asking some detailed information, reservations or if TRC will conduct a training of a specific course they want to take. Sorry if I can’t answers all your inquiries because I’m just relaying their schedules from TRC’s website to this blog to update my readers and subscribers. For more info you can call or text them in this mobile number: 0928-5022383

Cebu Pacific Air is 2nd Most Tweeted Airline on August 2011

Would you believe Cebu Pacific Air, one of the most popular airline in the Philippines ranks 2nd on the most tweeted airlines all over the world last month? This is according to Eezeer Data Lab, a Twitter analytic products company.

According to VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog, the reason why the tweets increased is:

We owe this increase in public tweets to @cebupacificair to our Twitter promos and games. We currently have a Where in the World is Ceb promo that is linked to a CEB Facebook app. There, we give fans the chance to win four tickets to any CEB destination they want,

Will Manny Pangilinan Buy Philippines Airlines?

I read the news on Philippine Daily inquirer regarding the Filipino tycoon, Mr. Manny Pangilinan who is in deep talk to buy Philippine Airlines but on one condition. He will buy the flag carrier from Lucio Tan once the labor row with its ground crew union and  Philippine Airlines Employees Association (PALEA) was resolved. Not only that, Mr. Pangilinan wants to slim down the company’s workforce before buying it so it will be more profitable and he is also in favor to outsource PAL’s services like the in-flight catering,  call center reservation operation and ground services.

I’m just wondering why he didn’t downsize the company after buying it like what he did in PLDT in 1988. So far, below are the companies that he acquired over the years: [click to continue...]

Twitter Web Analytics Tool to Monitor Your Traffic

If you have used twitter not just to socialize but have used it on your business, then this might be a good chance to know if twitter really does any good. Honestly I didn’t really know if twitter is useful to me or if it does drive traffic to my blog. What I see in my web analytics tool I’m using right now is there is no traffic coming from twitter.

Maybe because there is a problem on most analytics software identifying the traffic coming from twitter or maybe there isn’t any visitors coming from twitter. I’ve tried 3 kinds of web analytics tools already, and those are Statcounter, Hitslink and Google Analytics and so far I can’t see any referral from twitter although I have implemented an automatic tweet to my blogs. Automatic tweet is useful so you don’t have to log-in and update twitter on any new post created by your blog.

Top Ten Social Networking Sites Used in the Philippines

Social networking sites was a big hit not only in the U.S. but specially here in the Philippines. Filipinos really love to socialize so even online most of us can’t hide that fact. Just after friendster when we became the second largest number of users, facebook came into scene and now we rank among the top ten users all over the world. In fact even with that large numbers of users, many Filipinos still can’t afford to have an internet access and many homes don’t have internet access. The only way those users can access if they don’t have their own computers is going to internet cafe.

But thanks to mobile internet technology, many who can’t afford computers can surf the internet by using their mobile phones. And mobile phones that can access the internet using Wifi or 3G (not the old GPRS) are not confined to those branded and expensive ones like iPhone and Blackberry. Many cheap mobile phones in the market already have Android operating systems that can match expensive ones. Also, most telecommunication companies endorse social networking sites like facebook, twitter and youtube  by offering free access or discount rates. So what does it mean to your business? it means you should include social networking sites in your marketing strategies. And not only the well known facebook or twitter but other social networking sites that Filipinos usually spend their time.

Older People are Flocking to Social Media Like Facebook and Twitter

Have you seen the TV commercial of Lola Techie? well I think this is not a joke anymore seeing senior citizens or middle aged people enjoying social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Friendster, Linkedin and Youtube. The trend in the U.S. is older people are now flocking to social networking sites and you know that most of the time we Filipinos are followers of the U.S. trend.

Why I said that? it’s because few years ago Friendster is the number one social networking site among Filipinos but when Facebook became popular, many of us specially the youth flocked into facebook.

A Yahoo! Philippine news about banks here in the Philippines catches my attention  after I logged out of my Yahoo! mail this week. This is about local banks who refuses to use social networks as a marketing medium. If you are interested to know more about the news, go here. Quoting from the news:

“Based on feedback, [banks] are still trying to get a feel on how to go into social media sites,” said Allan Tumbaga, president of the Bank Marketers Association of the Philippines (BMAP).
